fox fur

I'll be at Further Confusion on January 18th-20th, so if you'd like a chance at original artwork, commissions, or whatnot, please come see me :)

This will be an example of a type of watercolor I'll offer which is very vibrant and color-heavy.

While painting this, I had a discussion whether it's immoral for a fox to wear fur, and finally we settled that it's a rabbit fur coat.

Healing

I had a "surprise" visit from a cousin (Ok, I forgot), so my plans for actual work went away. After he went to bed, I figured an hour of doodling would put me to sleep, and gave myself the theme "Emotions, and maybe a dragon". Well, two hours later, I have this and may as well actually go to bed.

It was fun to just loosely paint. Also, a part of me realized that now that I'm an adult I can actually draw the artwork I failed at making as a teen.

These first few drawings were between me and my friend Chelsea... silly things at the movie theater before Brave.

 The above was a silly drawing where I re-drew something I designed as a child.  Yep.  it's anatomy still doesn't make sense.

Been having one of those weeks where everything feels harder than usual.  Painting helps relax me.

So, I decided to revisit the biddinal which I created back in my angsty teen years since they're still a fun concept.  Decided to use a similar colorscheme as this old piece: http://fav.me/d428g9

It's fun to revisit older material and view it from a new point of view.  I've been trying to sketch rather than play games.  Makes me productive.

I need to write little notes for the next one.  I got a little intimidated (lots of people showed) and I am great once I start painting, but before that point, I am definitely a little shaky.

I'm going to be doing a painting presentation (and probably talk a good deal) on Friday. This will be incorporated into the presentation.

more animals

 Trying to take the time to actually look at animals and learn what it is about their shapes and features that make them look like what they are.  Still need tons of practice, but hey, practice is what gets you to the destination you desire!
